FAQs

how much does a session cost?

My current out-of-pocket rate for new clients is $160 per session.

do you take insurance?

The only insurance I am currently accepting is Medi-Cal, for various counties across California. Feel free to ask whether I accept Medi-Cal in the county you are enrolled in.

Otherwise, I can offer you a superbill for our sessions that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement. You will need to check with your insurance to see what the coverage is for an out-of-network provider.

do you offer a sliding scale?

Accessibility is important to me. I build a sliding scale into my practice by including both private pay clients and those with Medi-Cal insurance. At this time I reserve a portion of caseload for clients with Medi-Cal. Because of this, I do not offer a sliding scale to private pay clients. A full private pay fee helps me continue to structure my practice this way.

do you see clients in person or just online?

At this time I am only seeing clients virtually. There is an option to meet outside with local Santa Cruz clients, if schedules align and weather permits.

how often do you meet with clients?

I typically schedule sessions on a weekly basis to start - this helps us establish our therapeutic relationship and build momentum toward your goals. We can adjust frequency once we’ve been meeting for a while and it makes sense to scale back.

I understand that sometimes finances or schedules make meeting weekly difficult. I will do my best to meet you where you’re at and find a frequency that works for you and is clinically appropriate.

who do you work with?

Currently I am only taking new individual adult clients; no new couples, children, or teens at this time. I work with a range of clients, diverse in age, cultural background, income level, racial identity, gender, and neurotype.

what is your cancellation policy?

There is a 48 hour cancellation fee. For private pay clients, late cancellations will result in a full charge. For Medi-Cal clients, there is a $50 late cancellation fee.
